Street V Launch Will NOT Support
Lobbies and Spectator Modes
Capcom, WAI U DO
DIS?!
With the launch of Street Fighter just THREE days away (HYPE!), something
stirs amongst the TV Spots, Online Ads, and various promotions. Capcom has
officially revealed their DLC plan for the year, and (Thankfully) will be
releasing monthly content updates. Yay! … or, is there something missing? Under
the March Update list, Capcom states they will be adding Challenge/Trials
modes, an Online Shop, and lastly… Lobby and Spectator support.
Yupp… you read that last sentence
correctly. At launch, Street Fighter V is going to be BARE BONES, which
is disappointing, to say the least. Online matches will only support private
1-on-1, nothing more. Unfortunately, multiplayer lobbies, which are a standard
for fighting games at launch, will be regrettably absent.
Come on, Capcom, get your act
together!
Hopefully, this will be addressed
sooner rather than later. As an avid fighting game player, I find it a
quintessential aspect of modern fighters to support multiplayer lobbies, such
as King of the Hill, and just general casual, private games to watch, learn,
and participate.
As always,
Game on, guys!
