Operation: Black Ice Confirmed!
As of February 2nd,
Ubisoft released its first DLC to their competitive/tactical FPS Rainbow Six
Siege. The update, named ‘Operation Black Ice’ released a new map in the
rotation, a Yacht within the Hudson Bay that has weathered (and barely
survived) a harsh blizzard. To compliment the new map, two new Operators have
been added to the roster, with new and unique special abilities. Frost, a
member of the JTF2 (Joint Task Force), is a Defender, and specializes in set-ups
that revolve around ambushes with her ‘Welcome Mat’ leg traps. This ‘Welcome
Mat’ is an instant incapacitate to any who stumble into it, and is effectively
used when placed over cover, and at the base of windows to snatch unsuspecting
attackers. She as an aggressive seeker; a defender that hunts her prey. The
second operator, Buck, also a member of JTF2, is an Attacker, and specializes
in CQB with his assault rifle/shotgun combo. He isn’t as much of a game-changer
as Frost is, however, he is an adaptable attacker that can fit almost any range
of combat.
The two new Operators have been
available since February 2nd for Season Pass holders, and will
become available to everyone come February 9th. Renown costs for
said characters have yet to be confirmed, but are rumored at 25,000. ‘Operation Black Ice,’
shall run until April, when the next wave of DLC will be available (yet to be
confirmed.)
As always,
Game on, guys!
