February Release Hype
Hey, guys! BChace here! I hope you are as excited as I am for February. Ah! February! Where star-crossed lovers nauseatingly profess their love to one another on social media, and us gamers are in for some real treats! Get hyped, because I am! (Not to mention the Deadpool movie on the 12th!). There is one release that I have had my eye on for some time now, a game that I have beta tested over and over again, and that game is…

            Street Fighter V!

Yes, you read that correctly. Finally! A true sequel to the franchise! (And not the Super Turbo Ultra Arcade Edition that everyone has been going on about! *Joke is getting old, guys!*) Seriously! I have been waiting for too long. This is a welcome change of pace, as I’ve grown, as well as others, sincerely tired of Ultra Street Fighter IV. New and returning characters, a more modern combat system with V-skill, V-trigger, and Crush Counters that add a bit of refreshing updates to the formula. Not to mention updates to the net-code, cross-platform play with PC, and a recently announced Story-Mode DLC coming free in summer 2016.

But, enough about Street Fighter! (We’ll talk more about it in an in-depth Beta coverage article later this week!). We have other releases to be excited for, right? Right?! Yes.

Plants V.S. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 releases on the 23rd with new modes, new classes (Zombies midgets? Da faq?!), and way more explosions than ever before. The beta test was, unfortunately, very limited. But, with even just a small sample, I know I’ll be picking this one up. Just some fun, wacky gameplay to share with friends and family.

When it comes to DLC, February doesn’t shy away from it. Tomorrow, the first paid expansion to Black Ops 3 releases with new maps, and a new zombie map. For only $15, you’re getting your monies worth if you’re a fan of the fast paced, run and gun multiplayer.

Next week, on February 9th, we can expect to see Techland’s expansion to Dying Light, titled The Following, releasing. It promises to be everything and more! A new open-world map twice the size of both the Slums and the Inner City combined, Legendary Levels (Prestige), new weapons, and the addition of vehicles alongside another engaging story-line. If you’re a Dying Light fan, don’t miss this one!

And these are only the titles and DLC that I've kept my eye on for the past few months. There are plenty of other new releases to be excited for! And then some. Gravity Rush REMASTER,  XCOM 2, Firewatch, Unravel, Assassin's Creed Chronicles, Fire Emblem: Fates, and Far Cry: Primal also release this month.

As always, guys…

Game on!

-Brian
